Little Men

Here is a picture of my two nephews, Mason (left) and Anderson. Are they so stinking cute!?

I stole the pic from my sister's blog. She went down to visit family this past weekend. I am so bummed that I won't be able to meet/see my nephews in person for awhile. I have Skyped with Nickie and got to not only see Anderson smile but projectile vomit as Syd and I made silly faces at one another. I hope to soon Skype with Alicia to 'meet' Mason. I know it doesn't sound like much but to an aunt thousands of miles away this new technology is a gift from God!

Dear Darkness...

I'm not quite sure how I feel about us seeing so much of each other. I have a feeling in the long run it will not be good for our relationship. I know how much you love to show yourself but really...do you need to stay until 10 AM? Can't we compromise on this? It doesn't always have to be about you! Seriously, it is creepy to drive to work when it is as dark as midnight.

I know you let the sun have it's time but honestly a few hours is not really being all that generous. I feel like you could give a little more and to be fair. And do you miss me so much you are back by 6 PM? I am not going anywhere. We have all the time in the world to be together.

Please don't make me resent you! Try and work things out with me. There has to be a happy medium because if not, I am afraid our relationship will be in jeopardy.

Please take what I have said to heart. I don't want to hurt your feelings. I will try and see your side of things as well but don't make me start praying for sunny days already.

Patiently awaiting your response,
Jackie :)

4 Feet Away

I went to the Target in town with some friends last night and as we were driving home we found this guy! He was eating the shrubs right out in front of an office complex. I couldn't believe he let us drive right up to him and he didn't even care. It must have been some yummy shrubs!

I took the pics with my cell phone so the quality stinks but still we were like 4 feet away from him. The only thing he didn't like was the guy on the bike who rode by while we were sitting there watching him. Crazy huh?! I love Alaska!

Still Alive

I bet you have been wondering where the heck I went. Well, the answer is...no where! I have been stuck in the house since Oct.8th. That is the day I had surgery on my nose. Fun times! I have only been able to breathe out of one side of my nose for as long as I could remember. I was finally fed up enough to do something about it!

So Thursday, I spent most of the day at Elmendorf Air Force Base hospital. (The Air Force and Army bases are connected up here. It is a really great facility.) The surgery went off with out a hitch. Anyway, once I was able to eat crackers and keep water down I was able to go home. A special thanks to my friend Cherie for making me eat those crackers or I might still be there!

I spent most of the next few days sleeping. But 6 days later I must say I feel much better! I can even breathe in a lot more air now thanks to the stints they put in my nose so it wouldn't swell shut. I am very nervous for this Thursday. I go back in to have the splint removed, stints and stitches out. I think the day will definitely call for pain meds. I am very excited to be able to breathe and as an added bonus they straightened out my nose! Or so they say... The splint has been on since I woke up but I trust them.

I have decided to not post any pics of my recovery out of fear you will never see me as the same old Jackie again. It is pretty scary! But I promise I will post some soon. So instead, I took a picture of this tree right over our back fence. I thought it was cool because it looked like it was on fire to me!

A day for Kirsten

This past Sunday I was honored to throw a shower for my neighbor, Kirsten. She has been such a great that I find it hard to believe we have only known each other since May. She and her family have taken me under their wing. I feel like a part of the family!

Here is Kirsten opening gifts in the 'Queen of Everything' apron we got her.

Remember me showing you the pop can treat craft awhile ago? I did it for her shower too! I filled them with Hershey Kisses. They were a hit!

I had a bunch of these little pink flower set around the house. She is due with her second little girl, Mikhail, in about 2 weeks.

It was a really great day! They have done so much for me, it was great that I was able to give something back and make her day special!
