Sunbeam Lover

Boone loves sunbeams! He moves around the house from place to place as the sunbeams move. I came up stairs to find him in an awkward position. I guess this was the only sunbeam he could find at the time!

Gray or Grey

We will get to my original reason for this blog but first we must address the important question is it 'grey or gray'? You will see why in a minute. Anyway, does anyone else struggle with this issue? I guess my problem is that I never really thought about it. I think I write grey more than gray but couldn't be sure unless I would write it without thinking about it. Does that makes sense? Probably not.

Here is what I found out about my dilemma:

"It appears that the "gray" variant appeared later, as an American English variant of "grey". Both have mostly the same many meanings:"gray1 also grey ( P ) Pronunciation Key (gr)adj. gray er, also grey er gray est, grey est Of or relating to an achromatic color of any lightness between the extremes of black and white." (courtesy of googleanswers.com)

What did I learn from this? One, Americans made up their own variation. And two, it really doesn't matter.

On to the reason for this post. I found grey hairs! It freaked me out. No, it wasn't mine it was on my dog. He is a chocolate lab so when he stretched I could see it plain as day under his chin. How did this happen so fast? He is only 3 years old! Well, 21 in doggie years but still!

I wanted him to get older because I wanted him to stop running around like a cracked out kid filled with sugar and speed but I didn't really want him to get old! Time flies by too fast.

Boone's Photo Ops

Even though we tried, he was not feeling the Christmas spirit. I believe the tongue says it all!

His idea of helping to shovel the driveway.

His new facial after he tried to eat all the snow we were shoveling!

We got over 15 inches this past few days. It is a pain to shovel and drive in but it sure has been beautiful up here. There was quite a storm yesterday and Aaron and I ventured out to L.L. Bean. It was fun to be out on the roads when there were no cars. It was only a little after 6 pm and the place was a ghost town. The ride home was slow but the storm made it a winter wonderland outside.

Poor Boone (Part 2)

"I'm sitting, what now?"

"Wait a minute, what the heck is this thing? This wasn't part of the deal."

"Geeze, Mom. Why do you keep doing this to me?"

Happy Birthday 3rd Boone & Lucy!

It was three years ago that these two crazies came into the world! They were 2 of 8 puppies born to T-Spoon (their mom) in Watertown, NY. Our friends, Karen and Clay, own Lucy (purple collar). It was cool having brother and sister together, even if only for a while. Lucy now lives in North Carolina.

You wouldn't believe how many pictures we tried taking before we got them both in the shot! can you tell they are related? ha ha!

Boone has been a great part of our family. He was a great friend and security guard for me when Aaron was gone too. I heart him. For his birthday I plan on taking Boone to PETCO. I think it will be fun for him to pick out his own present. It will be his first time there! Keep me in your prayers! :o)

Bubble Wrap

Those of you who know my dog know he is crazy! I love Boone but he is a bit loony. Maybe that is why I love him so much. Anyway, Aaron received a package in the mail the other day. It was filled with bubble wrap. Of course he and I started popping all the bubbles. Who doesn't love that!? Well, Boone went nuts. He first tried to attack the bubble wrap but once he realized Aaron wouldn't let him have it, he resorted to jumping up and down like a spaz.

Who needs dog toys? Apparently, bubble wrap is a great form of entertainment!

Poor Boone!

This is what happens when I get bored...

'What is this thing?'

'Are you really letting her do this to me?'

A Kentucky snowstorm...

We finally got some real snow down here. While it doesn't look like much, Mother Nature managed to shut the surrounding schools down with her icy roads. As you can see here, Boone is loving the snow! He ran like crazy when I let him off his cable.

A $3.00 Fix

As some of you know my dog is crazy! One of the weird things he does is steal blankets. I know this sounds bizarre but trust me, it's true. When I sit on the couch I love to being covered up (no matter what time of year). And Boone always ends up sitting on the floor beside me slowly pulling the blanket down. By the time I realize what is going on I have about 2 inches of blanket left.

So Aaron suggested we get him a blanket. Yes, my husband the tough guy thought we should buy the DOG his very own blanket. ;o) So off I went to Wally World where I found a $3.00 fleece blanket. And Boone loves it! He pulls it around himself and sometimes when Aaron and I walk by we cover him up. He will sit there for a long time all snuggled in the thing.

Also, when going through the Christmas stuff I found this stuffed snowman and gave it to Boone. He snuggled it for about 30 seconds before he started ripping it apart. But at least I got a cute picture!
