There are two that stand out in my mind. The first involves Alvin and The Chipmunks. Ever year, when we would get ready to decorate our Christmas tree, my parents would put on Christmas with the Chipmunks. We would dance around and sing while hanging the lights, garland and ornaments. My sister and I looked forward to it every year! This past Saturday before Aaron and I put up out tree we made a trip to Wally World to purchase the CD. After searching the whole store we finally found it! When we played it while putting up the tree, all seemed right with the world! The second tradition we had at my house was that Santa always left a stuffed animal on our beds for us to find Christmas morning. My sister and I were so excited to wake up and see what we had gotten! There were even nights we slept in the same room hoping to catch him leaving us a gift. We would compare stuffed animals but Santa always knew the perfect stuffed animal to leave for each of us. Santa continued to bring me a special something at the end of my bed until I was about 22 years old. This is a special tradition that if we are blessed to have children I would love to carry on in our family.
My parents always made Christmas time special, maybe that is why I love it so much! Are there any Christmas traditions that you love? I would love to hear about them!

I love the stuffed animal idea! That would be so much fun for a kid!
Thank you for the job-related prayers. I know everything happens for a reason, but I just can't stand it when I don't know what that reason is.
Did Aaron mention any of his favorite memories?
Awe - those are some great ideas!! I love the stuffed animal one.
When I was little, we would go get the Christmas tree, and put it up but we wouldn't decorate it. We'd wait until the angels came. Some night in december, the angels would come to our house and decorate the tree. I LOVED coming downstairs to see the tree shining with all our ornaments. It was magical.
When Aaron got home last night and I asked him he mentioned potato soup and the big dinners at Grandma Seeley's and Grandma Pearsall's house.
I loved decorating my Gramma's house when I lived with her. Our Christmas album of choice was Elvis Christmas - and Blue Christmas actually is a "happy" song for me! I also remember all the baking she did - and now I'm trying to carry those recipes on. No doubt about it, I LOVE Christmas! :)
Thanks. I too love the stuffed animal idea. :) Love your blog. Have a great day!
We do the stuffed animal thing with Syd. And she loves Chipmunk Christmas. She listens to it hile she is in the tub.
On Christmas morning, my family would always make cinnamon rolls to enjoy whilst opening our stockings. This was a tradition even up to last year when my mom and brother came to my house for Christmas.
When I was a lot younger I remember all my aunts and uncles gathering at my grandparents' house and listening to Christmas records (yes, records) while decorating the tree. Matt and I did a version of this this year. We listened to my iPod Christmas mix while decorating. It wasn't quit the same with just two people, though. (And one of them watching a muted football game at the time. Sheesh.)
Sorry... this was really long!!
