Aaron and I thought we would take advantage of the four day weekend and be adventurous. We went back to Cave City, KY to visit the Mammoth Cave National Park. They say this is the world's longest cave system, with over 365 miles of explored cave. It is also written that "it is so long that if the second and third longest caves in the world were joined together, Mammoth Cave would still be the planet's longest cave and have nearly 100 miles left over!"We chose to go on the Mammoth Passage Way tour. While on the tour Park Ranger Neff filled us in on a bunch of interesting and not so interesting facts about the cave. He kept saying "ironical" and it was driving us nuts!
Park Ranger Neff (The jolly ranger with the interesting sense of humor.)
The ceiling of a room in the cave. It doesn't look like much but it was an amazing sight.
A wall in the cave. I didn't get a lot of great pictures because I couldn't use the flash. And they wouldn't let us bring in tripods. There sure were a lot of rules!
There are bats in the cave but we didn't see any. Thank goodness! After the cave tour Aaron and I went for a walk on some of the trails. We didn't find quite what we were looking for with our map but it was a nice walk just the same.

I figured out the self timer on the new camera!
Doesn't he look like a super hero? So cute.
Doesn't he look like a super hero? So cute.We had a really fun day and in the end it was worth the trip. Say a prayer for Aaron tomorrow! He is getting his wisdom teeth out and we all know how not fun that will be for him. I will let you know how it goes!

That looks like so much fun!!! You and Aaron need to get some hard-hats and go spelunking.
Oh - and prayers to Aaron!!!! Wisdom teeth SUCK.
Todd & I went to Mammoth when we were in Kentucky - it is fairly awesome. We didn't have such an interesting tour guide though!
Best wishes to Aaron - hope he's feeling better by now!
